about

Lauren B. Sanchez (LBS) is a visual artist and meditation teacher based in Calgary, AB (Mohkinstsis, Treaty 7).

It was her extensive travels throughout the Caribbean, Hawaii and Mexico that taught LBS the importance of using her art to document her vision work and experiences.

Upon returning to Canada, she combined art with a diploma in Early Childhood Education and began working as a Creative Arts mentor. LBS completed over 300 hours certification in Yoga Teacher Trainings and followed her calling to embrace, nurture, inspire and transform.

While painting is her primary discipline, Lauren is also experienced in ceramics, illustrations, photography, and creative writing. Lauren’s art has been exhibited numerous times in Canada and has been featured in several publications for her paintings, photography and poetry. In 2019, she completed her first public mural, Mujeres Divinas, which still stands today in Edmonton, Alberta. The mural continues to engage an audience through the celebration of womanhood and cultural diversity.

Lauren is currently experimenting with sculpture and focusing on her current painting series, Modern Goddess - a series that explores the connection between mythology, psychology, and spirituality. Her paintings embody conscious femininity with influential glimpses of Kahlo, Matisse and Picasso.

LBS is happiest on days that start with slow, intentional mornings. In another life she would have been a detective, just like Nancy Drew.
